Strengthen food waste prevention
So far, the Collares project has worked in the cities of Lima & Tacna in Peru, and Medellín in Colombia.
Project aim
To addresses SDG Indicator 12.3 ‘Global Food Loss and Waste’ through assisting both countries to contribute to 2030 goals to halve per capita global food waste at retail and consumer levels.
Project Objectives
- To investigate current food resource management challenges experienced by HaFS (Hospitality and Food Services) in Peru and Colombia.
- To facilitate stakeholder awareness about the importance of cutting back on food waste.
- To boost food waste redistribution efforts in the respective cities.
